Ordinance #04-05 established the Hideaway Beach Tax District, a dependent special district of the City of Marco Island created to improve, renourish, preserve, maintain and monitor the beach property located within the boundaries of Hideaway Beach. The governing board of the district, designed as the Board of Supervisors, is appointed by City Council following the recommendation from the Hideaway Beach Association's Nominating Committee. All Board Members must be residents of the district and serve without compensation.
